About Me

Healing in its different guises has been my life for many years. This has included graduating in Biochemistry, working in nursing and various medical laboratories, sail training, women’s groups, plus an extremely brief sojourn at a medical school in London. In 2002 I gained a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education from Greenwich University in something called PCET, which stands for post-compulsory education and training, i.e. teaching adults. I was teaching yachting subjects at that time but after a while I decided to go back to university again. There followed two years at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London, and another 18 months at Kathmandu University’s Department of Buddhist Studies, which is based at Ka-Nying Shedrup Ling in Boudha, Nepal. I lived in Boudha while I was studying there and still spend as much time there as I can. I’ve also travelled in Tibet and North India. I’m very pleased to be building business links with Nepal now, and in particular with a company called Wild Earth Nepal who make the most wonderful herbal products which I will be importing into the UK very soon.
Whereas I’d begun my studies at SOAS thinking I was embarking on an academic career, what has actually transpired is that I’ve come full circle – being lovingly but firmly guided back towards healing. I’ve studied in several different lineages of Reiki – Usui Reiki, Rainbow Reiki, Karuna
Reiki® and latterly, Reiki Jin Kei Do. My Master/Teacher degree is in Taggart King’s lineage of Usui Reiki, which includes both Japanese and Western techniques. To help increase my understanding of energy healing I’ve learned Quantum Touch and Pranic Healing, and a meridian therapy called Facial Harmony Balancing which was developed by the kinesiologist Tanmayo Lawson. Time spent with Kundan and Narendra Mehta at The London Centre of Indian Champissage gave me yet another perspective on energy therapy. I also love the energy practices of Kundalini Yoga and Tibetan Yoga, and I hold a teacher qualification in the lineage of ZaChoeje Rinpoche, a Tibetan Buddhist Master from Drepung Monastery in India, in a type of yoga popularly known as The Five Tibetans. I see clients, mainly for Reiki and sound therapy, at a healing room in Glastonbury.
I’ve studied sound therapy with Tom Kenyon in America and I’m currently a student of the British Academy of Sound Therapy in Brighton, and also of a wonderful kinesiologist called Alan Sales who runs the Institute of Cyberkinetics in Croydon. And, back in London, I’m learning about Transpersonal Psychotherapy at the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education.
These find their way into everything else I do – there are no boundaries!
And lastly, I’m very excited to have attended a retreat in America recently with Tog Den Won Po Geshe Chongtul Rinpoche of Bon Shen Ling, where he initiated retreatants into an ancient, authentic lineage of Tibetan “Reiki”. I will be delighted to share some aspects of these teachings with participants on the trip to Nepal in November.
